In face of massive conspiracy, one man takes action and saves the world! The eternal lesson of the opening of the Book of Exodus
Highlights from this week's learning and events; An eternal message from the Torah about how G-d Al-mighty wants the Torah message of His Divine Wisdom to reach every single man, woman and child.

The Book of Exodus opens with a massive population control conspiracy led by Pharaoh and the Egyptian elite. Written 3,300 of years ago, the Torah details a sophisticated plan to prevent the population growth of the unwanted Jews dwelling in Egypt. Every detail is eye popping and relevant today, as is every word of Torah. Let’s touch on a few points.
The Egyptian Elite first recruited Pharaoh, the King, to lead the population control plan. Initially it was too much for even Pharaoh to stomach, so he was dethroned, but after a short while he pledged allegiance to the plot in return for being re-enthroned.
The first step was to cleverly create a ‘crisis’ and a ‘threa’t to rally the Egyptians to the cause. A national security threat was invented and the Jewish population growth portrayed as a danger to national security. (Exodus 1:10) This worked to promote nationalist populism necessary to enlist the population in carrying out the conspiracy.
A propaganda campaign was executed to warn of the dangers of population growth.
The next step was to set heavy taxes so the people would be harassed and burdened with making money to pay the taxes. (Exodus 1:11) That would tire and distract the people.
To actually eliminate the target population, great care had to be exercised.
The government could not directly physically attack and eliminate the Jews, who by then had been residents for generations. Such a direct assault would be simply too much for Egyptians to accept and the Egyptians regular folk would block the government’s attack.
So the government worked secretly to compel the medical professionals and health-care workers to kill the newborns at birth, without the mothers realizing what was happening.
This failed because the midwives feared G-d Al-mighty and not Pharaoh and his regulators and inspectors and public health hierarchy of licensing and control. So the government then had to enlist the general population.
Messages were sent to the Egyptian population to act as individual vigilantes to find newborn Jewish boys and to drown them in the river, to protect Egypt from the already advertised and generally accepted alarming ‘national security threat.’
Cleverly, each individual who carried out this patriotic act of loyalty to the Homeland was portrayed as an individual acting on his own sentiments and the government was able to pretend that it was private citizens carrying out the genocide and not an official government policy.
And so the conspiracy was conspired and carried out.
The Targets unwittingly accelerate the conspiracy
The leader of the Children of Israel was then Amram, a descendant of Levi, the son of Jacob Our Father (Yaakov Avinu).
His reaction to this horrific and overwhelming conspiracy? Stop having babies entirely. What kind of world was this to bring a child into, he asked? How could he and his wife conceive a child, then bring it to term and deliver the baby only to have it murdered if it was a boy?! He separated from his wife to prevent conception and the other Jewish men followed suit.
But, in doing so, Amram actually accelerated the conspiracy. He expanded the target of the genocide from the just the boys, to boys and girls, since through his reaction he reduced the Jewish population growth to zero.
His fatal error was pointed out to him by his five year old daughter, Miriam. She challenged him pointing out that he was acting worse than Pharaoh and the conspirators, actually eliminating all Jewish children.
A humble shift in thought and action saves the world
Amram, a true leader, had great humility. And though the rebuke was delivered by a five year old girl, he realized his error and re-married his wife, Yocheved. (Exodus 2:1)
And, thus was conceived and born Moses, Our Teacher. The Redeemer of the Children of Israel. Moses, Our Teacher, redeemed from slavery both the Children of Israel and the Egyptian people from their slavery to the Egyptian elites and their idolatry. He then went on to lead the Children of Israel out of Egypt, split the Sea of Reeds, defeat Amalek, and lead the Children of Israel to Mount Sinai where he brought down the Torah’s Divine Guidance for the Children of Israel and all of humanity. The Ten Commandments, the entire Written Torah and Oral Torah all came through Moses, Our Teacher. He then led the Children of Israel for 40 years in the desert developing them into the mighty nation with the spiritual strength to bring the Knowledge of G-d Al-mighty to the entire world. And, brought the Children of Israel to the border of the Holy Land, that they would then enter to steward on behalf of all humanity.
This is the result of one conception. And, every conception.
The birth of every human being brings Redemption to the world and humanity as a whole.
Amram literally saved humanity with one baby.
Instead of contracting in the face of the conspiracy, as Amram initially did, we must expand. We must bring more children into the world, no matter what the conspirators intend and plan to await those children.
I have written here frequently about the urgency of bringing more children into the world. My teacher, the Lubavitcher Rebbe, directly confronted the war against the human population led by the many anti-G-d and anti-human groups, including, but not limited to the Gates family and Planned Parenthood. While the Rebbe’s approach was generally not to mention specific people and rather focus on exposing the false ideologies, it is clear from his talks that he was directly refuting the terminology and lies of the anti-population groups.
And you can, and must, too
The main take home here is to take action. What can you do to bring more children into the world? What can you do to encourage others to bring more children into the world.

The real action that Amram took was when he woke up the second time. The first time he woke up, he woke up to the fact of the conspiracy. The second time he woke up, he woke up to taking a simple action to bring a new human being into world. Without calculation and without having a plan, he put his life into directly bypassing the conspiracy and having a child.
Just like then, when having a child was the most direct way to save the Jewish People and Egypt and the world, so too today, the most direct way to save yourself, your family, your people and your country and the world as a whole is to ignore the contraction thinking and instead move into expansive thinking and action. Have a child and help others do the same.
