The Rosh Hashanah Challenge
Rosh Hashana is marks the creation of the first man and is the New Year of every man. And everyone in Kalkaska is going to know and, with G-d's help and your help, in your family and town, too!
Rosh Hashana is generally referred to as the Jewish New Year. But it is actually the New Year for every man, for 5784 years ago Adam and Eve were lovingly and intentionally created by G-d Al-mighty. And we all share these grandparents.
To prepare for this incredible day, let’s learn about what this means for you and your family.
My dear Substack readers, I will be learning with you, your family and friends Wednesday night, September 13, 2023, in a special Substack readers’ event at 8 pm Eastern. Register here so you can receive reminders: https://us02web.zoom.us/meeting/register/tZ0udO6upz8pGtbE0_zm3qb8p6UlUjS0hv3W
This is open to all you dear readers of all backgrounds, beliefs and walks of life.
Keep reading for some short videos to fill you in more on Rosh Hashana and what it means for you and your family.
The Rosh Hashana Challenge: Help Me Spread the message to others
Join me in meeting the challenge to let every human being know that Rosh Hashana is:
1) the New Year of every man, marking the creation of the first man and woman, Adam and Eve
2) the Day of Judgment of every human being in which G-d Al-mighty lovingly examines our year and sets us on our mission for the next year. We too examine our thoughts, speech and action and evaluate how well we have lived up to being created in G-d Al-mighty's Divine Image and what we will do to more closely live in the Divine Image in the coming year.
3) the Day in which we renew our recognition that G-d Al-mighty is the King of all kings.
Every human being must know this.
I need your help to reach them. Together we can reach them.
Two part challenge -
gather people you know on Rosh Hashana to learn, pray, and reflect
AND
gather those same people for a pre-Rosh Hashana gathering to prepare and I will speak to your group by Zoom.
Details of the challenge:
Gather 10 or 20 or 2000 or more men, women and children in your region for Rosh Hashana to let them know G-d Al-mighty’s Message of Hope that: 1. They are lovingly created in G-d Al-mighty’s Divine Image by G-d Al-mighty. 2. Rosh Hashana is the New Year of every man. 3. Rosh Hashana is the Day of Judgement of every man.
Gather those people in advance of Rosh Hashana so they can hear words of Torah that apply to every human being from Rabbi Smith.
Take action now: Choose a date and time that works for your group to gather in person between Sunday, September 10 and Thursday September 14.
If you want, the poster in the picture above and attached here can be customized for your gathering. Just send us the dates, times, and location.
Email info@rabbismith.org or reply to this Substack email with the Subject “Ready for Rosh Hashana” to tell me the date and time you chose.
We will provide the link and we will go live at that time to speak to your in-person gathering.
We will also provide a Rosh Hashana package for you to share with your group on Rosh Hashana.
On Rosh Hahana itself you can develop the message of the day and depending on your group and location hear Shofar blown (only on the second day of Rosh Hashana (Sunday) this year), pray and say Psalms.
Here are some short videos to get you in action and you can share these with the people you will be calling to join you:

Let’s meet the Rosh Hashana challenged, together!
May you and your family be blessed with a good and sweet New Year!
